Buddy's influenced a who's-who of guitarists including Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimmy Page, and Keith Richards. Simply put, Buddy's a legend. And unbeknownst to me, he's also a bit of a comedian... Throughout the night, Buddy dropped zingers like "I play music so funky you can smell it" in between classic hits that kept those of us in the audience engaged and laughing just before he would rip into John Lee Hooker's "Boom Boom" or "She's Only Nineteen" by Muddy Waters. And later in the evening, Buddy brought out an 18 year old guitar prodigy who Buddy found at the age of 7, Quinn Sullivan, to join him onstage. The kid is unbelievably good.
Quinn's journey has been similar to show opener, Jonny Lang, who picked up the guitar at age 12 and who's carried the blues guitar mantle along with other modern day blues guitarists Kenny Wayne Sheppard, John Mayer, Joe Bonamassa & Gary Clark Jr.
