Letters from the Fire is most likely a band you’ve never heard of… until today. The Bay Area rock quintet has been playing in some form or another since 2007 — and let’s hope that the current incarnation remains intact for years to come! You’ll understand why once you hear their upcoming album, Worth the Pain (iTunes) (due out September 9th) and the incredible vocal range of newly minted lead singer, Alexa Kabazie.
If, like me, you’re into power pop rock with a helping of heavy guitars, a dash of electronic/industrial synths, and topped off with soaring vocals, you’ll love Worth the Pain.
After hearing the video above, who do they sound like to you? The immediate connection I made after my first listen was to Amy Lee’s Evanescence, but with a bit of late-80’s hair metal guitar solo flair that you’ll hear on songs like “Control”, “Live a Lie” and "Perfect Life".
They’ve been off my radar until now, and I’m psyched to catch their live show to see how their material translates to the stage.
Tickets are still available to their show at the Above DNA Lounge on Sept. 16th. Here’s a link.
See you there!
