San Francisco's adopted son and everyone's favorite pop crooner, Matt Nathanson, played an acoustic set to a sold out Great American Music Hall crowd this past Wednesday night.

Performing in support of his new album, Show Me Your Fangs (iTunes), the all-acoustic show included songs from an extensive catalog spanning over 15 years.

One of the many talents Matt has is his ability to connect with his audience that I've rarely seen from other artists. He has such an infectious personality that you'd think he's the kid down the street that you grew up with -- cracking jokes like the two of you have been friends for years -- buffered between songs with lyrics that just about anyone can connect with.

And if you've seen Matt in the past, you'll know he's fond of 80's rock bands like Poison and Journey -- but during his show on Wednesday, Matt's only full cover was Simon & Garfunkel's "The Only Living Boy in New York".

It was a special night and a truly great performance.

If you missed it, you're in luck because he's got another date on November 3rd at Z Space which I'm sure will be another not to miss!

The full setlist from the show is below, and I've included the video of the song which Matt closed the show with by saying that it's the strongest song he's written yet.
