The
Dave Matthews Band came to town this past Friday night and performed two sets at the
Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View. To kick the evening off, Dave played "Death on the High Seas" and "Little Red Bird" solo before being joined by the rest of the band for an hour-long acoustic set. For those of you catching Dave later in the tour, be sure to arrive on time -- the show is meant to start between 7:00 and 7:30pm!

After a short break, the stage was reconfigured and the band re-emerged for their 'electric' set where they were joined by background vocalists, The Lovely Ladies, and legendary jazz saxophonist, Charles Lloyd.

Surprisingly, at least to me, Dave's acoustic set included what I would argue are the bands' most popular songs -- "Satellite," "What Would You Say" and "Ants Marching" -- another reason to be sure to make it to the venue on time!
One thing can definitely be said, Dave & company put on a great live show and are full of extremely talented musicians. Don't miss the DMB if/when they come to your city!
