Black Map, the new rock trio consisting of Ben Flanagan (Trophy Fire), Mark Engles (Dredg) and Chris Robyn (Far), crushed the Blank Club this past Friday night with decibel levels hitting heights that would kill small field mice. The evening kicked off with doom-metal Sac-band, Horseneck, and was closely followed by an indie-pop-rock Oakland-based band called On Telegraph. Black Map took to the stage right before 11:30 and worked through a 40-minute set that culminated with their recent single, "I'm Just the Driver."
This was just the second-ever concert by Black Map following their first at the Rickshaw Stop in San Francisco back in September. Look for another SF show within the next few months as Black Map prepares to release a 4-song as yet untitled EP.
Here's the setlist from the show:

Be on the lookout for their 4-song EP due out within the next 6 weeks or so. My hunch is you'll be hearing and seeing a lot more from these guys throughout 2014 and beyond. And in case you missed it, you can find our interview with Mark Engles
